Mumkin: J&K ties up with Ashok Leyland to provide sustainable livelihood to youth: Govt

Srinagar, October 18: The Munchkin scheme of Mission Youth has successfully engaged and channelized the energy of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir through a systematic livelihood generation program in the transport sector.

The Union Territory Administration in partnership with Ashok Leyland has moved towards achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of providing sustainable livelihood to the youth under the ‘Mumkin’ scheme for the transport sector.

With this partnership, the government aims to move towards a better socio-economic ecosystem, self-employment opportunities and poverty alleviation in Jammu and Kashmir.

As part of the “Mumkin” initiative, the Lt Governor distributed highly subsidized small commercial vehicles among the first batch of youth beneficiaries of the Union Territory to mark the beginning of the government’s commitment towards livelihood generation for the youth.

‘Mumkin’ is a livelihood program primarily designed for unemployed youth in the age group of 18 to 35 years. Under the ‘Mumkin’ scheme, small commercial vehicles are being made available to the youth along with a banking partner by providing loan facility up to 100% of the on-road value of the vehicle to be purchased.

Mission Youth, J&K provides an amount of Rs 80,000 or 10 per cent as an advance subsidy towards the on-road price of the vehicle (whichever is lower) and the vehicle manufacturer (Scheme Partner of the Government) provides an advance special discount. do, not less than the amount of subsidy

Muzaffar Wani of Ramban is grateful to the administration for providing him a vehicle that helped him earn a respectable livelihood that could meet the needs of his family.

Vani is satisfied with the earning after owning the vehicle under the Mumkin scheme.

Similarly, the financial condition of Riyaz Rakib of Srinagar got elevated after getting Mahindra Pickup Vehicle under the ‘Mumkin’ scheme.

Hatib Javed of Shopian was working as a daily wage laborer and could not afford his family’s expenses with little earning.

The awareness program of Mumkin Yojana in which he participated gave him a ray of hope to realize his dream of owning a vehicle.
