Respiratory Medicine Dept. organized the 1st Thoracic Ultrasound and Pleural Workshop by Dr. Radhika Banka under the guidance of Dr. Zarir Udwadia at P. D. Hinduja Hospital, Mahim on 23rd February, 2023. Selective 42 delegates were provided basics of thoracic ultrasound and hands on experience with pleural procedures including pleural aspiration, chest drain and indwelling pleural catheter insertion, pleural biopsies and thoracoscopy. With eminent national and international faculty, this workshop entailed the respiratory physician to identify common pleural pathologies on ultrasound, gain experience in pleural procedures and facilitate greater use of thoracic ultrasound in their clinical practice.
