The accolades just don't stop! Adding yet another feather to its cap, P.D. Hinduja National Hospital was judged 'Best Multi-Specialty Hospital – Mumbai' by The Week-Hansa Research for the fifth time. Hinduja Hospital has also been ranked fifth in the top multi-specialty hospitals in India, making an entry on the list for the first time. The in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) department of the Hospital was ranked as the second best IVF center in the country, also for the first time. Earlier, in 2012, Hinduja Hospital was awarded as the 'Best Multi-Specialty Hospital, India – Metro' at the CNBC-TV18 – ICICI Lombard Healthcare Awards.

The Week-Hansa research survey in the search for India's best hospitals was conducted in 16 major cities that included Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), Lucknow, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvanathapuram, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur and Indore. The hospitals considered for the survey in various categories were required to have a minimum of 100 beds, at least two years of operations and should have received 5 per cent or more of the total nominations from physicians.

A primary survey was conducted among a total of 917 experts including 328 general physicians, 442 specialists, 147 pathologists and radiologists. They were given a questionnaire to nominate and rank top five multi-specialty hospitals in India and within their city. They were also asked to nominate and rate the top five hospitals in their own area of specialisation. Experts from six metros were also asked to nominate top five pathology laboratories and imaging centres in their city. Apart from this, 77 qualitative interviews were done with key opinion leaders across the healthcare industry.

Parameters used for ranking included overall reputation of the hospital, competence of the doctors, infrastructure, availability of multiple specialties, patient care, hospital environment and innovation in treatment.
