IndusInd Bank starts national coaching camp to select CABIs 17 best cricketers for 3rd T20 World Cup-2022:

The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled announced the 12 days of IndusInd Bank National Coaching Camp for 29 players at Faith Cricket Club Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from September 22, 2022 – October 04, 2022.

The selection committee of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India will shortlist the best 17-member squad to represent India at the 3rd T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind from December 05 2022. Eight countries will represent the 3rd T20 World Cup, with 39 matches played across multi cities of India.

“The stage is set for the beginning of qualification for the inaugural edition of our third T20 World Cup,” said Mahantesh G.K., President, CABI. “Thanks to IndusInd Bank for organizing the coaching camp and supporting the game of cricket for the visually impaired. Coaching camps help the blind cricketers to showcase their talents, improve their techniques and mindset and help them to prepare for the upcoming World Cup.”

The T-20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind will be held PAN India in multiple cities. Teams from India, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh will participate. The 29 cricketers for the Coaching camp are:

Praveen Kumar Sharma, Sujeet Munda, Mukesh Kumar Rawat, Anka Venkateshwara Rao, MD Jafar Iqbal, Omprakash Pal, Lalit Meena, Nilesh Yadav, Sovendu Mahata and Sonu Golkar (B1), Ajay Kumar Reddy, Venkateswara Rao Dunna, Maneesha A, Nakula Badanayatk, Gambheer Singh Chauhan, Deepak Singh Rawat, Irfan Diwan, Lokesha and Surajit Ghara (B2), Deepak Malik, Sunil Ramesh, Tompaki Durga Rao, Prakash Jayaramaiyah, Sukhram Majhi, Amiti Ravi, Deepak, Mohd Azeem, Ghewar Rebari and Dhinagar G (B3).

General Secretary of CABI E John David spoke to the Media, “To be the best, our players have to get trained to play the best. Thanks to IndusInd Bank for organizing the National Coaching Camp. I am very confident we will shortlist 17 best Blind Cricketers, to represent the World Cup.”
