MUMBAI: Switch Mobility has emerged as the sole bidder for 700 AC double-decker electric buses that will operate on wet-lease basis across Mumbai by the BEST undertaking. Under wet-lease, contractors bear the cost of driver and maintenance.

"Tender was floated for wet-leasing of 700 AC double-decker e-buses for a period of 12 years. Only Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd submitted their bid," said sources. The BEST undertaki-ng's evaluation committee found their bid technically suitable. Switch Mobility has already procured an order for 200 double-decker e-buses and delivered its first fleet in February. The first se-rvices began in the same month.
